ABOUT DOM'S NATURAL CARVINGS

Who am I?  What do I do?

I’m Dominic and it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’ve given myself a title of Spiritual Woodcarver.

What do I mean by a Spiritual Woodcarver?

I create pieces of jewellery, charms, rings and objects from wood with the intention of helping to ground and empower and heal You, their owners.

What has lead me to this point is a journey of learning, growth and overcoming personal challenges.

What can you do to support me?

I would be grateful for you to show Dom’s Natural Carvings support. You can do so by following me on Instagram, liking my Facebook page, checking out my Tweets, but most importantly buying the products I make.

What's my story?

Without delving into my life too much, I’ve always considered myself to be a creative and imaginative individual. However, what has lead me to this path of creating holistic jewelry, is a journey of self-discovery and overcoming challenge presented with mental health.

Back in mid to late September of 2018, I had the privilege to meet a wonderful trance medium and her spirit guide in a one to one session. Before this point, I had been struggling on and off with an internal conflict involving depression and anxiety. My wife, Gemma, was pregnant with our second child and had been struggling with severe morning sickness whilst my anxiety was building from being solely responsible for my bouncy 2 year old daughter.

I had seen the trance medium and her guide once before doing a trance demonstration in front of a group, myself included. I was so fascinated by the experience that I wanted to have a one to one session. In the session, I was given information on past experiences that impacted my health, guidance on present challenges with my wife’s morning sickness and the pregnancy, and a glimpse into my life purpose and journey to come.

The spirit guide told me that he could see me working with wood and doing carpentry. That I would create loads of beautiful things from the wood, which would find its way not just in the United Kingdom, but internationally as well. He explained that the things I would create would help shed my emotional blockages created from depression and anxiety, much like carving away at the wood to reveal something truly unique. He went on to say that the individuals who believed I would not succeed would be proven otherwise and in time lead to a collaboration with my wife.

So, the following day I went to B&Q, brought a stick of wood, handsaw and wood glue, and began carving a small wooden train using a utility knife. It’s strange to think that 18 years of my life spent in education and employment without any form of wood carving experience would lead me to this path of employment.

As I continued work as a learning support assistant at school, various events happened that the guide made me aware of, such as my son being born and difficulty in the third trimester. In summer of 2019, I slipped into depression once more, this time hitting a point of wanting to end my life. Luckily, with support from my wife, family, friends and multiple healthcare professionals, I found myself back in stable place. For my own health and well being, I deciding to resign as a teaching assistant and begin pursuing Dom’s Natural Carvings as a business to not only help myself but help others with the healing energies found within semi precious stones and wood.

With that, I sought out support for my business, took part with networking and business based events and workshops, and, met some really interesting and engaging people, who have been an important influence within my journey as a Spiritual Woodcarver.
